Aguilar Sr., Esq., is an accomplished and respected attorney with a legal career spanning over four decades. <\/p>\n<p>Mr. Aguilar earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 1978, after receiving a B.S. degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas at El Paso. Since being admitted to the State Bar of New Mexico in 1978, he passed the bar and  was licensed in the State of Texas. After passing the New Mexico bar exam and the Texas Bar exam, Mr. Aguilar Sr. practiced for two years in El Paso, Texas.<\/p>\n<p>In 1981, he became a Legislative Assistant for U.S. Senator Lloyd Bentsen (D. Tex.) in Washington, D.C. He returned to New Mexico in 1983. <\/p>\n<p>He has been admitted to practice in various jurisdictions like the U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico, U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, U.S. Circuit of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Aguilar has been a member of and involved in numerous professional associations, including the American Bar Association (ABA), State Bar of Texas, State Bar of New Mexico, New Mexico Trial Lawyer\u2019s Association (NMTLA). He was inducted as a Fellow in the prestigious American College of Trial Lawyers in 2004. He was a member of the ACTL State Committee and served as Chairman of the ACTL State Committee from 2014 to 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Aguilar Sr. served as Treasurer and Secretary of the New Mexico Trial Lawyer\u2019s Association before becoming President in 2007.
