William P. McCaughan Jr. is an Associate Attorney at The Morgan Law Group. He focuses on representing his clients in complex civil litigation matters.
Throughout his entire career, Mr. McCaughan prioritizes client service. The focus from the start of representation through judgment and collection is always on the client’s goals and objectives. He has over twelve years of litigation experience in both state and federal court and has obtained millions of dollars’ worth of judgments for his clients in complex civil litigation matters.
Additionally, he has defended clients from millions of dollars of claims in complex business torts; most notably defending a client from over a million dollars in claims during a two-day federal trial in the Southern District of Florida.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. McCaughan was a law clerk of the Honorable Charles R. Wilson of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. This experience provided him with the invaluable opportunity to learn how a judge views and analyzes cases.
He also served as an Assistant State Attorney in Florida’s Twentieth Judicial Circuit serving Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry, and Lee counties for two years after graduating law school. As a prosecutor, he first chaired countless jury and non-jury trials in addition to providing extensive experience in the criminal justice system.
